Philippines’ Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) launched a free web-based linking program with, 911 TESDA, on the 30th of July. The new program launched was delivered by President Rodrigo Duterte.
TESDA aims to increase the employment rate for certified TVET graduates and workers by providing a platform that directly connects them to the public, making them more accessible.
Registered workers will be linked to certified partners D/OSPs, Gawin.ph being one of them.
According to Tesda Director General Isidro Lapeña, the app will function similarly like Grab or Uber. Users will be connected to many types of services such as home improvement, cleaners, logistics, healthcare and many more.
The application will proceed with a test run in Metro Manila.
911 TESDA is currently looking for 11,000 certified workers (CWs) for the program. Interested CW can sign up online through the TESDA webpage.
